When you need help, we’re here

We provide free emotional, practical and financial support for independent retailers and operators, from stand-alone family run independent stores to symbol groups, whether you operate in neighbourhoods, villages, city centres or on forecourts.

You can access our free confidential Helpline 24/7 for personal guidance, as well as emotional, practical and financial support.

GroceryAid has been at the heart of the grocery trade since 1857 and provides emotional, practical and financial support for colleagues across the whole industry.

Emotional Support & Advice

‘In the moment’ emotional support is there for colleagues dealing with stress, anxiety, low mood or depression. Up to six sessions of counselling are available for those who are recommended a more in-depth approach to mental wellbeing.

Workplace Critical Incident Support

Funded by The Leverhulme Trade Charities Trust, the service supports colleagues who have been affected by a critical incident that leaves them traumatized and struggling to cope.

Legal Advice

We work with Law Express, one of the UK’s leading providers of independent legal telephone advice, guidance and information, to provide you with the support you need.

Carers Support

We have a tailored programme to help relieve some of the stress caused by caring. The GroceryAid Carers Gateway Programme supports grocery colleagues who give unpaid care to others within their household.

Relationship Advice

In partnership with the registered charity Relate, we can offer access to free relationship counselling and support for colleagues.

The GroceryAid Helpline is available 24/7, 365 days a year.
